The date of Laylat Al-Qadr as indicated by the Prophet

Laylat al-Qadr is the best night of the year, because God Almighty says: (Indeed, We sent it down on the Night of Qadr * and what will make you know what the Night of Qadr is? The Night of Qadr is better than a thousand months); That is, the work in it of prayer, recitation, and remembrance is better than the work in a thousand months, in which there is no Night of Qadr.

The secret of naming it the night of “Qadr”

The first: Honor, dignity, and greatness, as it is a night of predestination and honor. For the Qur’an to be revealed in it, when the angels descended therein; Or because blessings, mercy, and forgiveness descend in it, or because the one who revives it becomes of destiny and honour, or because God descends in it, and the treasuries of His bounty and generosity are beyond measure, or because acts of worship have a great value in them, or because God sent down a Book of value in them. On a messenger with destiny on a nation with destiny, or because the earth is narrowed by the angels in it, so it is a night that is better than a thousand months, so there is no doubt that its destiny is great. Al-Zuhri said: It was named Laylat al-Qadr for its greatness, destiny, and honor, from their saying to so-and-so, meaning honor and status, and on the authority of Mujahid: He said: (Its work, its fasting, and its standing are better than a thousand months).

The second: Destiny, in the sense that God determines the destinies of that year, so it was called the Night of Qadr. For what is written for the angels in it: of predestination, provision, and deadlines that will be in that year; Because God Almighty said: {We sent it down on a blessed night, but we were warned * in it separating every wise matter} [Ad-Dukhan: 3, 4], the separation of God: And it is that God determines in the Night of Qadr the rulings of that year. Ibn Qudamah said: He said: (…and it was said: It was named Laylat al-Qadr, because it is estimated in it what will happen in that year: of goodness, calamity, provision, and blessings).

The time of Laylat al-Qadr

Laylat al-Qadr remains until the Hour of Resurrection. Ibn al-Mulqqin said: (Those reliable scholars are unanimously agreed that Laylat al-Qadr will last until the end of time…). The Night of Qadr in Ramadan There is no doubt about that, because God Almighty said {The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an} [Al-Baqara: 185], and He said: {Indeed, We revealed it on the Night of Qadr} [Al-Qadr: 1] and on the authority of Abu Hurairah – may God be pleased with him -, he said: The Messenger of God – may God bless him and grant him peace – said: “Ramadan has come to you, a blessed month. God Almighty has enjoined upon you its fasting, during which the gates of heaven are opened, the gates of hell are closed, and the rebellious devils are chained in it. God has a night that is better than a thousand months, whoever is deprived of its goodness.” he was forbidden.”

Laylat al-Qadr in the last ten days of Ramadan due to hadiths including: 1- The hadith of Aisha – may God be pleased with her – she said: The Messenger of God – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – said: “Search for the Night of Qadr in the last ten days of Ramadan.” 2- The hadith of Abu Hurairah – may God be pleased with him – he said: The Messenger of God – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – said: “I was shown Laylat al-Qadr, then some of my family woke me up and I forgot about it, so seek it in the late ten nights.”

Laylat al-Qadr in the last seven nights, postpone the last ten: 1- The hadith of Abdullah bin Omar – may God be pleased with him -: that men from among the companions of the Prophet – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – were shown the Night of Qadr in a dream in the last seven nights, so the Messenger of God – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – said -: “I see that your dreams have colluded in the last seven, so whoever investigates it, let him investigate it in the last seven.” 2- The hadith of Abd al-Rahman ibn Asila al-Sanabihi – may God be pleased with him – it was said to him: Did you hear anything on Laylat al-Qadr? He said: Yes, Bilal the Muezzin of the Prophet – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – told me: “It is in the seven in the last ten days.”

Laylat al-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days is sure of its intercession. Hadiths including: 1- The hadith of Aisha – may God be pleased with her -: The Messenger of God – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – said: “Seek out the Night of Power in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan”. 2- The hadith of Abu Saeed Al-Khudri – may God be pleased with him – and in it: that the Prophet – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – said: “And I show her the odd night, and I prostrate on the morning of it in mud and water” (([And if it is the night of the twenty-first of the last ten days]) ). And in the wording of Al-Bukhari: “I was shown Laylat al-Qadr, then I forgot it or I forgot it, so seek it in the last ten nights of odd days.” 3- The hadith of Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan – may God be pleased with him – about Laylat al-Qadr, he said: “The Night of Qadr is the night of the twenty-seventh.”

What is learned from these hadiths is that the Muslim strives hard in worship and does not detract from his effort on one night without the other, because he does not know which night corresponds to Laylat al-Qadr, so he will be rewarded for it with the great reward.
