Questions ## Questions about our teachers What families ask us about our teachers. **Are all Murouj Academy teachers native Arabic speakers?** Yes. Every Murouj Academy teacher is a native Arabic speaker from the Arab world, and the academy does not hire non-Arab teachers. The Quran is in Arabic, so pronunciation, makharij and the language are taught by native speakers. **Do your teachers hold an ijazah?** Some do. Each teacher's profile states their own ijazah and studies, such as the riwayah an ijazah covers, so you can choose a teacher whose profile lists the credential you want and book a free trial class with them. **Are your teachers Al-Azhar graduates?** Many of our teachers studied at or are certified by Al-Azhar, but not all. The profiles of Salma S., Mohammad S., Mohab A. and Abrar R. name Al-Azhar; every other profile states its own studies. **Do the teachers speak English?** Yes. Every Murouj Academy teacher teaches in English as well as Arabic, so you don't need any Arabic to start. Some teachers also speak Turkish. **Can I choose a female teacher?** Women and girls are always taught by female teachers at Murouj Academy, and many of the teachers profiled here are women. Adult men are taught by male teachers, and for children the parent chooses. **Can I change my teacher?** You choose your teacher through free trial classes before you commit, and you can try more than one until you find the right fit.
