**Disclosure: Murouj Academy publishes this guide and is one of the academies in the table below.** It is not a ranking. The academies are shown in the same order as our wider comparison, [the best online Quran academies](https://muroujacademy.com/best-online-quran-academies/) (by number of Trustpilot reviews, highest first), with some left out to keep the table short, and every fact about another academy comes from that guide, which recorded what each academy says about itself on 23 October 2026. Academies change their sites, so confirm anything important on their own pages.

**The short answer:** for most US families the best online Quran classes for kids are one-to-one, taught by a teacher the parent has met in a free trial, with a female teacher for girls, the same teacher every lesson and clear answers about safety. Use the checklist below to compare any academy, including ours.

## A parent's checklist for online Quran classes in the USA

1. **One-to-one or group?** Ask whether your child is the only student in the lesson. In a one-to-one lesson the teacher hears every recitation. Murouj Academy teaches one-to-one only and never runs group classes.
2. **A female teacher for your daughter?** Ask whether this is guaranteed or only a preference. At Murouj Academy girls are always taught by female teachers, and most children learn with female teachers.
3. **The same teacher every lesson?** Ask whether you choose the teacher and whether your child keeps them. At Murouj Academy the parent chooses the teacher through free trial classes; after you commit, your child continues with that teacher.
4. **What does the free trial include?** Ask who teaches it, how long it lasts and whether there is any obligation. At Murouj Academy the first class is a free one-to-one trial with the teacher you choose, the teacher checks the level and suggests a plan, and there is no obligation to buy a package.
5. **What age can my child start?** Several Murouj Academy teachers' profiles say they teach children from age 4. Tell the academy your child's age and ask the teacher to check readiness in the trial.
6. **Do the times fit your school week?** Ask for after-school, evening and weekend slots in your own time zone. Murouj Academy books every class in Eastern, Central, Mountain or Pacific time, in lessons of 30, 45 or 60 minutes.
7. **Are the costs and rules clear?** Ask whether prices are published, how cancellation works and how invoices are sent. Murouj Academy does not publish prices: a quote follows the free trial class.

## Safety questions to ask any academy

Online lessons happen at home, so it is fair to ask direct questions before your child's first class:

- Can a parent sit in, or keep the camera on, during the lesson?
- Are lessons recorded, and who can see the recordings?
- What checks are made on teachers before they teach children (identity, qualifications, references)?
- What are the rules on contact between a teacher and a child outside the lesson?
- Who do you contact with a concern, and what happens next?

Background checks in the US search US records, and some academies' teachers live and teach abroad, so ask what is checked rather than assuming. Murouj Academy's teachers live and teach outside the United States, so we do not advertise US-style background checks.

What Murouj Academy confirms today: every class is one-to-one in our own online classroom, opened from a link with no app or account; girls are always taught by female teachers; the parent chooses the teacher through free trial classes before committing; and parents and guardians book and manage classes for anyone under 18 and are responsible for supervising their child's use of the internet during and around classes, as our [terms](https://muroujacademy.com/terms/) say. We have not yet published a recording or observation policy, so ask us on WhatsApp before your trial. If you have a concern about a teacher, message us on WhatsApp or email [info@muroujacademy.com](mailto:info@muroujacademy.com) straight away.

## How do Quran classes fit the US school year and time zones?

Most US school districts run from late August or early September to late May or June, with a long summer break. One-to-one lessons can follow that rhythm:

- **During the school year,** families usually pick a slot after school, in the evening or at the weekend, from two to five lessons a week.
- **Alongside weekend Islamic school.** A weekend program gives children friends and broad Islamic studies. A private teacher gives the whole lesson to your child's own reading, tajweed or memorization.
- **Summer break** is a good time to build momentum, especially for memorization.
- **Time zones.** Houston, Dallas and Chicago are on Central time, New York and New Jersey on Eastern time, Denver on Mountain time and Los Angeles on Pacific time. Classes are online, so the city only changes the clock: we schedule in your local time.
