## What is an Islamic studies course online?

An Islamic studies course teaches the basics of Islam in simple terms: what Muslims believe, how they worship, the life of the Prophet ﷺ and the manners Islam teaches. It is for adults who want clear, reliable basics, whether you are new to Islam or want to revisit what you learned long ago.

Murouj Academy teaches it as a foundation course, not advanced scholarship. Classes are live and one-to-one, never recorded. Women learn with female teachers and men with male teachers, and the first class is a free trial.

## Who is this course for?

- ### Adults new to Islam

A calm start in simple terms, at your pace, with a teacher who answers your questions.
- ### Muslims revisiting the basics

Fill the gaps in what you were taught as a child, and understand the reasons behind what you do.
- ### Women

Always a female teacher, in a fully private one-to-one class.
- ### Men

  Always a male teacher, one-to-one.

## What will you learn?

Your teacher builds a personalized curriculum from these stages, starting from your level.

1. ### Core beliefs ('aqidah)
   - The six pillars of faith
   - Who Allah is, and what it means to believe in Him
   - Angels, the books, the messengers and the Day of Judgement
2. ### Worship basics (fiqh)
   - Purification: wudu and ghusl
   - Salah step by step, from the call to prayer to the final salam
   - Fasting: the basics of Ramadan and common questions
3. ### The life of the Prophet ﷺ (seerah)
   - His life in order, from his birth to Madinah
   - His character and what we learn from it
4. ### Islamic manners (adab and akhlaq)
   - Honesty, kindness and respect for family and neighbours
   - Everyday du'as and the etiquette of daily life

### Milestones along the way

- Explain the pillars of faith in your own words
- Know how to make wudu and pray salah step by step
- Understand the basics of fasting
- Tell the main events in the life of the Prophet ﷺ
- Use everyday du'as and manners with confidence

How fast you progress depends on your starting point, age, weekly classes and practice. Your teacher sets a plan after the free trial class and reviews it with you.

## What do the four parts of the course cover?

Each part answers one plain question, and your teacher moves between them at your pace.

| Part | The question | What you cover |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Aqeedah | What do Muslims believe? | The pillars of faith, taught simply |
| Fiqh (worship basics) | How do I worship? | Purification, salah and fasting |
| Seerah | Who was the Prophet ﷺ? | His life and character |
| Adab (manners) | How do I live as a Muslim? | Manners, du'as and everyday conduct |

## Is this a foundation course or advanced study?

It is a foundation course. You learn the basics well and ask every question you have, in plain words. It does not replace long study with scholars, and it does not try to cover every detail of every topic.
